In short
SMS Driving School covers Rhyl, Prestatyn, Abergele, Rhuddlan, Dyserth, Towyn, Gronant, Meliden, St Asaph, Kinmel Bay and Talacre. We are based in Dyserth and work within roughly 7 to 8 miles of the village, which covers the coastal strip from Talacre in the east to Abergele in the west. Door to door pickup is included in every lesson price. Pupils take their practical test at Rhyl. Call 07966 934232 to check availability in your area.

We work within roughly 7 to 8 miles of Dyserth. On this coastline the limit is travel time rather than raw distance: the A55 is the main artery through the region and it can be a bottleneck, so a town that looks close on a map is not always close in practice.
Abergele in the west and Talacre in the east sit at the edges of that range, so availability there can be tighter than in our core towns. If you are just outside the list, it is still worth calling. We would rather tell you honestly whether we can cover you than have you assume we cannot.
Do you still cover Colwyn Bay?
No. Colwyn Bay appeared on our older coverage list but we no longer teach there. Our western limit is now Abergele. If you are in Colwyn Bay we would suggest looking for an instructor based closer to you, simply so you are not paying for travel time.
