Terms and conditions
Last updated 4 August 2026
These terms apply to driving tuition provided by SMS Driving School, based in Dyserth, Rhyl, Denbighshire. Booking a lesson with us means accepting them.
Lessons
- Lessons are one to one and are taught by an approved driving instructor.
- A lesson begins at the agreed pickup time and ends at the agreed drop off time. Travel to and from your pickup point is included in the lesson price and is not deducted from your lesson time.
- You must hold a valid UK provisional driving licence and bring it to your first lesson.
- You must be fit to drive. You must not attend a lesson under the influence of alcohol or drugs, including prescription medication that affects your ability to drive.
- You must tell us about any medical condition or eyesight requirement that affects your driving, and about any change to your licence status.
Prices and payment
- Current prices are shown on our prices page. Manual tuition is currently offered at a reduced rate and this is expected to change during 2026.
- Prices quoted at the time of booking apply to lessons booked at that time. Block bookings are charged at the rate in force when the block is purchased.
- There are no booking fees and no charge for pickup and drop off within our published coverage area.
Cancellations
To be confirmed: the notice period required to cancel or rearrange a lesson without charge, and the position on block booking refunds. This section will be completed before launch.
- If we have to cancel a lesson, we will rearrange it at no cost to you.
- We may cancel or shorten a lesson if weather or road conditions make it unsafe to drive. We will rearrange the time at no cost.
Driving tests
- We will only supply a car for a practical test where, in the instructor's professional judgement, you have reached test standard.
- Use of the car for a test is charged separately from lesson time and includes the pre test lesson and the test period.
- Booking and paying DVSA test fees is your responsibility.
Conduct
We want lessons to be a comfortable experience for everyone. We reserve the right to end a lesson and to decline further tuition in cases of abusive behaviour, or where a pupil ignores instructions in a way that puts people at risk.
Liability
Our vehicles are insured for tuition and are fitted with dual controls. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

How we handle your personal information is set out in our privacy policy.
