Learning to drive in Meliden

Meliden sits on the A5151 between Prestatyn and Dyserth, on the slope running down from the hills to the coast. Like Dyserth it gives learners plenty of gradient to work with, which is exactly what you want early on when clutch control and hill starts are still new.

The village is small, so lessons here usually combine local work with the wider road network in either direction: down into Prestatyn and the coast, or up towards Dyserth and out into the Vale of Clwyd.

Meliden is sometimes written as Melidan. The Welsh name for the village is Gallt Melyd.
