SMS Driving School charges £35 per hour for manual driving lessons, currently reduced from £40, and £45 per hour for automatic driving lessons. A ten hour block of manual tuition is £340, which works out at £34 per hour. There is no block booking discount on automatic tuition at present. Why manual is cheaper than automatic right now
It is not a permanent pricing decision. Manual tuition is temporarily reduced from £40 to £35 per hour because we have manual capacity to fill, and we would rather be busy than hold a higher rate with gaps in the diary.
Automatic demand is strong enough that it stays at £45 with no block discount. We would rather tell you that plainly than dress it up.
We expect manual to return to £40 during 2026. If you book a ten hour block now at £340, you lock in the current rate for those hours.
